Work Diary - Shoot 14

Evaluation

I performed this shoot with previous inspiration from shoot 13. My intention was to photograph some more apples, improving the red one along with introducing a green one into my photographs and I was very pleased with the outcomes of todays session. I thought that the explosion technique has been successful in all of the attempts that I have tried and makes my pieces of work a lot more eye-catching an original. Exploring the food theme has been enjoyable, and by adding effective techniques through a surreal approach makes food photography a lot more creative. 

This was the most successful piece from Monday's shoot. In order to excel from the previous shoot, I wanted to photograph more apples in a variety of ways. Photographing a red apple inspired me to photograph a red and a green apple as I thought that these colours would contrast effectively together. I was very pleased with the splatter effect on my last shoot which therefore encouraged me to create more pieces like this. I took a picture of these apples on a white background but placed them on a black background because this enabled them to be more eye-catching as their colours bounce off the background effectively. The explosion technique worked well again here in this picture and it definitely makes apples look more attractive as the style of unique and effective. I decided to compose this piece so that only half of each apple was on show as this successfully fills the frame and works well as an overall photograph.

My idea for this photograph was that since I have explored the theme of quite abnormal photographs in general and of food/drink, I wanted to attempt linking all of the Lucozade's together in one bottle. This came out well and I was pleased that I managed to get the proportions of the bottle accurate. The Caribbean Crush (blue bottle) isn't really visible much in this piece, but because I think this is the most attractive colour and contrasts with the pink, orange and red, it should be more exposed; I will attempt this again in the following shoot. After looking at this piece, I feel that it could look effective against a black background like the apples. 

Progression

After experimenting further with the explosion technique, I wanted to mix my style up a bit and look back at photographs of food and sweets that included the surreal theme. By this I mean a photograph that looks extremely creative, yet is impossible to actually look like that or happen for example, my photograph where the nice biscuits were falling into a pile and the starbursts falling into a hand neatly and accurately. Therefore, because I enjoyed piecing these pictures together I want to take some more photographs similar to this, and below is some inspiration of the sweets I will take photographs of along with the style I may take them in.

Work Diary - Shoot 13

Evaluation

For this shoot I chose to look at capturing photographs that I could take through the process of photoshop. I wanted to attempt some skills on this editing software in order to create more effective pieces of work. I looked at the exploding effect through having previously taken falling and exploding photographs that would have been more effective with splashes and splats of the subject. Therefore, taking a picture of just an apple wouldn't be that interesting, but with the explosion effect it's miles more eye catching to the viewer. Having said this, attempting it on human faces was also something that I thought was an extremely creative way of portraiture photography. I enjoyed performing the editing of these images which was easily carried out through watching a YouTube tutorial. Because this was a successful attempt, I will definitely be exploring and developing it through photographs in my future shoots. 

I liked my idea of applying an explosion effect to a persons face. I photographed myself here with quite a blank and down expression which works well with the theme of erosion; the splats look as though I am beginning to erode. This has been conveyed through one half of me fizzing away. One side of me is unaffected, whereas the other half isn't as clear. The composition of having me fill the centre of the frame is successful because it means those who look at this image will immediately be drawn to my face. Moreover, this type of photography could be interpreted in how people can sometimes lose themselves, and by applying an explosive pattern over one half of me I am portraying to a viewer that I'm perhaps broken (even if realistically I'm not). It's a thought provoking piece and I'd enjoy developing this idea in other people's faces perhaps in an upcoming shoot. 

This would have to be my favourite photograph out of the two from my 13th shoot. My reasons for this are that I set out in the beginning to convey an exploding apple through photoshop tools, and by the end of this session I had successfully created my intended piece. I also added a radial blur in this photograph which makes the explosion have a larger impact; something that I unfortunately forgot to do in the one of my face. I feel that having the apple sit on a breadboard worked well because this beige tone is effective with the contrasting white wall, and dark red subject. It definitely allows the apple to stand out more. Framing it in the centre was successful, but makes me want to alter the composition in future pieces. I might look at taking a photograph of a green and a red apple, one half of the red one being visible on the left hand side and one half of the green one being visible on the right hand side.

Progression

This shoot has definitely boosted my inspiration when it comes down to being creative. I have found an enjoyment through photographing food items in this project overall, and now I have more experience with techniques to make food photography more appealing. I'd like to carry out a photograph of a red and green apple as described in the evaluation of my second photograph. I'd also like to be creative with a lucozade bottle and its frame. I could edit in the explosion effect to make the bottle more effective, however I'd also like to perhaps take pictures of four different coloured lucozade bottles and then edit them to construct just one bottle; therefore one bottle including four different flavours. This will be more understandable when I actually create this piece in shoot 14. 

This inspired me when I saw it.

Work Diary - Shoot 12

Evaluation

Shoot 12's surreal approach was a successful one. I intended to shrink members of my family to fit in scenes of tea and biscuits and teapots because my previos shoot inspired me to excel onto this topic. I've often found adding miniature people into normal settings quite tricky because it's a struggle to make it look like they are actually in the picture. Often the lighting on the person just ins't right enough to make them being in the settings look realistic. I have decided after this shoot, that even though it was quite successful, I won't be shrinking people into settings like these again. I'd rather shrink one person or increase the size of a person rather than an assortment of people. I liked the set up that I created becuase I thought that this was done successfully and looked like a genuine tea set up, I'm just half and half with the pieces that I've created.

This was possibly the most successful outcome of the four that I created. I feel that the poses I told my models to do worked successfully in fitting with the crockery in the photograph. However, when I've added people into surreal photography before, they never seem to look fully blended into the image. In future I will look at some tutorials in order to make them blend with the picture more realistically. I liked the set up that I created because the mixture of colours is effective and the bowls/cups etc. are attractive instead of plain and boring. Having my family in this picture is more effective than random people in my opinion so I am pleased with the outcome of this.

If I had to choose possibly the least successful photograph of today's session, then it would probably be this one above. Shoot 12 contained a theme of tea cups and tea in general, but this image doesn't really work together very well. I like the idea of placing miniature people on miniature house trees, but I could have perhaps made my mum pose casually sitting down instead of drinking a cup of tea. The composition was well structured in how the tree is placed in the middle of the frame, but to improve an image like this I could have had the table stretch across the whole half of the frame instead of beginning to curve off. This unfortunately spoils the composition in being 100% successful.

Progression

To improve my surreal approach I will be going back to food/sweets because this is something that I liked photographing in the previous shoot. I want to look at tutorials on YouTube on how to create effective splashes and explosions in Photoshop. I intend to make an apple look as though it has exploded along with perhaps a splash aswell. Once I have looked at these tutorials, I will take photographs suitable for editing and test out my skills on photoshop to see if this will make my photography effective. The reason that I'm looking at explosion/splashes is because I've taken many pictures on things falling or coming out of something, and this time I want to actually make an  impact within the photograph by having splashes and drops accompany the falling theme. This way, I will be able to capture even more effective photographs in the next shoot with all of the skills I learn in this one.

Work Diary - Shoot 11

Evaluation

This session went extremely successful. I created one photograph from a studio shoot and the other photograph from a home shoot. The studio shoot was my favourite with the starbursts because the colour is extremely eye catching and colourful. The other two images also went successfully because the concept of the falling biscuits and exploding berries worked really well. I enjoyed this shoot and I liked the three whacky outcomes. I will continue to create images like I did during this shoot because the surreal theme in my project is exceptionally enjoyable for me to do. Using the studio lights was definitely effective because this allowed the detail on the sweet packet and sweets to stand out. If I was to shoot the other two photographs in the studio, the quality of them may look improved, however they came out effectively as they are anyway so I am very pleased with shoot 11.

This was the most successful creation that came from shoot 11. This overall photograph has been created with a variety of different images. I took individual pictures of the hand holding the sweets, the sweet packet, and the individual sweets on their own. I cut around these pieces and placed them into this frame, where I created the illusion of the starbursts falling out from the packet and piling up neatly into my models hand. I like this concept of falling sweets which is what I developed from my previous image of falling books.

In my opinion, this was the least successful photograph of the shoot. My reasons for this are because of the overall composition. I originally had a photograph of a bowl of fruit and yoghurt with a glass of smoothie next to it, with berries all added in to the image. I placed these around the top of the bowl to make it look as though they were exploding from it, however this wasn't very successful. It doesn't come across as an explosion, more so just berries floating around the frame. I did add some shadows to make these fruits look more three dimensional and realistic, however perhaps if they were a little more squashed, or the yoghurt was exploding aswell then it would have looked more complete and effective. 

Progression

After being inspired by Christopher Boffoli in creating photographs with added characters, I have decided after this shoot of food and sweets that I'd like to now add people to these already surreal styled photographs. I will be using my family and maybe some friends in some others to include in some of my food landscapes. In order to create the most imaginative and entertaining food landscapes I will do set ups of attractive crockery and food so that the overall images don't come out looking ugly and unprofessional. Below are a couple of inspiring photographs that I have found on the internet to inspire my shoot that I will do on Sunday, along with some photographs from my photographer research post on Christopher to also influence this shoot. 

Work Diary - Shoot 5

Evaluation

This shoot took place outside of my house, before I came to college when I noticed that it snowed and I couldn't pass the opportunity of getting photographs by. As I have been looking at weather in this project through the topic of evidence, this was the perfect time for it to snow. These photographs convey the evidence of snow, winter and cold weather. I enjoyed this shoot because I love snowy weather, so taking photographs of it was interesting because I was able to get a few close ups of the snow and edit them in photoshop to look sharper, making the ice crystals stand out more. The shoot was a successful one and a good follow on from my previous shoot, as lots of my previous photographs have included things in front of the sky with the white theme. All of these snow photographs contain the white theme and I am pleased with every outcome.

This is the photograph from the shoot that I feel was the most successful. The branches on the tree and the bush are all coated in a layer of fresh snow, contrasting with the faint greens and light brown colours featured in this picture. These features appear effective in front of the white sky as it blends in with the overall snow. I like the different styles of nature in this image. One is of a tall tree with lots of bare branches, whilst the other one is simply of a small bush underneath it. I feel that having two different styles creates a good composition as the frame is filled and is effective.

This is another photograph that I captured from the shoot. It is unedited and therefore doesn't look as effective as the other photographs in my straight images post because the white of the snow is less vibrant and visible. If I was to increase the exposure of this image it would look more effective as the whole frame would be brighter. Furthermore, the branches of the tree are also undefined because I haven't used the curves in this piece; these darken already dark features to make them more defined and stand out. This photograph didn't excel into my straight images because the framing wasn't correct. The top left part of it is too visible to the viewer and takes their attention away from the snowy branches. 

Progression

In order to improve this project, I'd like to move onto something surreal. I have photographed a lot of weather images to portray different seasons, however I don't want my photographs to become repetitive and therefore I want to begin looking at something different. In my progression section in shoot 4's work diary I included a picture of a girl looking up at an enlarged book in the woods. I am more comfortable with this kind of picture now because I have looked at a lot of forest/branch work in shoot 5. In shoot 6 I will photograph an ordinary forest, however may possibly also use my snow forest photography as part of development.

Work Diary - Shoot 10

Evaluation

In today's shoot, I found it to be my most enjoyable, creative and successful one so far. The more shoots I tend to do, the more I find them successful as the further I've escalated in this project, each shoot has always been an improvement from the last. I wanted to continue my surreal theme of books since shoot 6 as I liked my idea of looking at knowledge and open minded people through this kind of photography. It links to the piece I produced in shoot 6 which is why I wanted to develop some more ideas, along with my library photography found in shoot 4 and 9. Each piece took a long length of time to be completed, however each one was a success when finally constructed. Looking at surreal photography has really inspired me and made me more intrigued in this style of photography as it questions reality and the mind. The photographer that inspired this shoot of mine was Joel Robinson as he has created lots of pieces on looking at book surrealism. He's part of my photographer research and one of my main inspirations for this project of mine. I found it difficult when cutting around the models I was using in my pieces as their was always such fine detail to look at and get right. I had to make sure they were also positioned in a way that was appropriate to fit the other object in a picture e.g sitting on top of a book etc. Overall this lesson was extremely fun and successful that I will definitely be doing more surreal pieces in the future of this project. 

This was my favourite piece I created from the shoot as I believe that it was generally the most successful one. My reasons for this are because I was able to edit the picture precisely to create that looks as though I am sat on a pile of books. I can't decided whether I look smaller however, or if the books look bigger because it's a difficult illusion to judge. I perhaps could have shrunk my size a little more to make me look even smalle, but overall I believe the idea behind this image and the composition of it was well thought about and also successfully constructed.

This was another successful image of mine, however I feel that the surrealism of it is perhaps a little obvious. My idea behind this photograph was that books are filled with imagination, always. Something the skittles company say is that these sweets feed your imagination. I wanted to link this with the idea of books bursting with creativity, and the sweets are a physical symbol of the imagination and creative thought exploding out from the pages. I liked my idea behind this, although perhaps the sweets being so defined and saturated compared to the book make this piece look less realistic. A positive however would be the fact I added shadows beneath the skittles to convey how they're actually there instead of just placed. This went well, along with the idea, it's just the reality of the overall image that I question.

Progression

As part of my progression stage after this shoot, I have found something through these surreal images that I quite like the thought of. Since editing skittles into the book photograph to convey a theme of imagination, I'd like to further this idea and perhaps look at sweets exploding out of their actual packet for example,  I could get a picture of someone holding a skittles packet with the contents bouncing out from the broken seal. I could then also develop this by taking ordinary photographs of sweet bowls or sweet packets or even a selection of confectionary spread out across a table and capture images in the style of one of my favourite formal elements, depth. I will always keep linking back my work to subtopics I have found interest in through my starting point of evidence. I would also like to create a piece similar to the pictures in my previous work diary progression section as this could include my surreal theme with my depth theme.

Work Diary - Shoot 9

Evaluation

For this shoot, I went to the National Portrait Gallery and Victoria and Albert Museum for my art trip. On this trip I made sure that I captured plenty of photographs to demonstrate depth and interesting compositions for my photography project. I filled every frame with ongoing arches through the gallery or down ancient styled staircases. These style of photographs were the most creative to me and I feel like they improve my project. Going with the theme of depth has been successful and has made my enjoyment of taking these kinds of pictures extremely entertaining. I had a great time at the gallery and museum and found a large variety of photographic objects for example, the old stylish spiral staircase that had an entrance but no exit. In the gallery I also found a collection of portrait stained glass windows which reflected in a glass stand in front of it. This constructed an extremely detailed and attractive photograph as the formal element colour stood out.

This photograph of the library was by far the most successful photograph of my shoot.  I took this one because it is a major improvement from the library picture I shot on college campus in shoot 4. It was not my intention to improve this library picture as I had no idea that there would be a library in the Victoria and Albert Museum. However, I saw it and originally wanted a depth picture of it because taking depth photography means that I am able to capture a whole room/scene in the frame instead of close up photography. It's a big step up from the college library photograph as it's more stylish and detailed for a photograph worthy piece.

This was another photograph of mine that was successful during this shoot. The reflection is coming from a glass table that was in the middle of the room, whilst these pieces of stained glass were up on the wall in front. It demonstrates an evidence of reflection which I couldn't not include. It's also a different way of photographing light, as the stained glass is only extremely colourful because of the light behind it in the room. Without the use of the light, there would be no colour or art evident in this piece. I previously shot evidence of light photography in shoot 2 through a crystal portraying the colours of the spectrum, and this image of stained glass is another way to convey different colours through class with light.

Progression

For the next shoot, I'd like to look at some more surreal photography because I found a truck load of enjoyment through creating the pictures and piecing them together in shoot 6. I mentioned that I'd like to create some more surreal pieces in the future of my project and now is when I want to study it in more depth. I have created an inspiration post on the types of photos that I'd like to take but have also demonstrated some images below for further inspiration. I feel that it would be a great idea for me to expand on my surreal photography as lots of these images are usually overflowing with evidence, which then brings it all back to my project. In my shoot 6 work diary I explained how I'd like to progress my project through looking at abnormal pictures, therefore all of those images will be attempted in shoot 10 of mine. I don't feel as though I'd be able to progress my art gallery pictures because I feel that they are already of a good standard, however if I was ever to go back, or perhaps to another art gallery, I would most certainly look at some more depth photography as these seemed to be the most successful. I'd also look for more stain glassed windows aswell as these create beautiful reflections and colours. However, for the next shoot I will be creating some photo montage pieces with inspiration from my shoot 6 progression section. Below are a few more examples of the kind of images I'd like to recreate in the future, as the glasses being the main focal point in the photographs really stands out through the lenses containing the most colour; one of the most eye capturing formal elements.

I could include some of my depth photography in the lenses of glasses that I model somebody with. to link my depth theme with my surreal theme.

Work Diary - Shoot 8

Evaluation

For shoot 8, I got a train into London to look at city photography. From shoot 1-6 and shoot 7, I really enjoyed looking at the sky when it was white, along with blue and cloudy sky, and depth. Therefore, whilst I was in London I took an assortment of pictures of The London eye with all the clouds behind it and the summery sky. I also took some others on the bridge and a flag above the water. These photographs demonstrated light, shadows and depth again. All of my images were successful because my surroundings were extremely photogenic. I enjoyed shooting in a different location to the college campus or my home town, it was a fresh experience and gave me much more interesting photographs. It has inspired me to perhaps do my photograph exam on location and visit a place like Southend or London again or even just a whole different location in general. I like unique places where I can find things to photograph that I wouldn't find anywhere else but that place.

This was one of my most favourite images from this shoot because I liked the contrast in the photograph. In one half there is part of the London Eye and in the other half there is nothing but sky and clouds. This is also behind the London Eye, making the landscape style effective. There is only a thin amount of space to fill in each half of the frame which was more effective than a square image perhaps. My original photograph of this was cropped to create this contrasting photograph and I am very please with its outcome. It follows on from my shoot where I took pictures of flowers in front of the sky, because instead of flowers in this one there is the London Eye. I admired this theme of the different coloured sky which is why I applied it in this photograph.

This was a photograph that I captured at Liverpool train station in London. I went up to a higher platform to  allow more of my surroundings to be in the frame of my picture. I centred myself in the middle so that each side of my photograph was even and I feel that it was a very successful outcome. This is another example of depth photography (something that I really admire) and it represents the presence of people exceptionally well. I took this image to convey evidence of travel and journey which links with me being in London, somewhere out of my home town.

Progression

For shoot 9, I am going to The National Portrait Gallery and Victoria and Albert Museum for my art trip. On this art trip I will be looking for depth photography because often in art galleries there is a row of arches with an assortment of exits on each side into different rooms. This will be effective in my photography because hopefully art will be on show in some of them to give the pictures some attraction as well as depth. Depth is an interesting formal element for me as it allows lots of the frame to be filled with large rooms and places. It's something I found in this project that I enjoy shooting, and the examples below are photographs of the depth style I'd like to take.

Work Diary - Shoot 2

Evaluation

For shoot 2, I done half of it at home and then half of it in college in the studio. I wanted to look at photographs that would portray evidence of light. I used a crystal that I've had for years, and took my home photographs by allowing the sunlight to reflect all of the colours of the spectrum. In the studio at college, I then used a torch to shine on the crystal, which meant that lots of blue tones and blue lights were reflected off of it because the room that I was shooting in was extremely dark. I preferred the photographs that I took at my house because the sunlight conveyed more rainbow colours rather than blues and greens like the torch. There was a wider variety of tones with the sunlight and I felt that the reflections were more evident in the home photographs, even though they wasn't taken with a professional camera. I will be improving these home shots by taking the exact same style of photo with the same composition, but just capturing the images in better quality.

This for me was the most successful photograph of the session. It's one that I took at home, where I sat it on the window sill and let the sunlight create an exaggeration in the colours of the spectrum. I edited in the black background because I believe this is a much better contrast between the surface and the crystal. If I left the background an ivory shade it would not focus the attention on the crystal as well as it does in this image. The main formal elements in this picture are colour, shape and pattern, all contributing to it's successful outcome. 

This was a photograph that I took in the photography studio. In this studio, lack of colours was projected from my crystal because of the dark surroundinds and this is an example of how dark my outcomes actually were without being photoshopped. The torch that I shon on the crystal really didn't do it any justice when you compare it to the pictures I was able to capture at home. I produced more successful pictures than this in the studio, but it was this one that conveyed the lack of photographic quality found in my studio shoot.

Progression

To progress my project, in the next shoot I will be looking at the sky if it is a sunny day as this is what I wanted to do after shoot 1. I want to focus on the clouds and perhaps create a multiple imagery if possible. I may want to look at colours against the blue sky, and will therefore find some bright flowers to hold up against it. I also want to look at contrasting colours being symbols for different weather conditions. I enjoyed looking at weather in photography through colours of the sky and I feel white skies portray a colder weather condition and a blue sky portrays a warmer condition.

Work Diary - Shoot 6

Evaluation

During this shoot, I found that I was lost for inspiration when it came to ordinary photographs. I mentioned in my progression last lesson that I wanted to look at some surreal photography that could be linked to my evidence project. I therefore decided to recreate one of the images I included in that progression, of a girl looking up at an enlarged book placed in the forest. I feel that my interpretation of it was successful and I really liked how it came together as a concluded piece in the end. Unfortunately I was only able to create one surreal piece as I didn't have any props for my individual shoots. On the other hand, I've purchased myself my own camera now and will therefore be able to do a lot more shoots at home which will enable me to collect more photogenic and good quality photographs, as I'm not just restricted to using the facilities at college. The reason I looked at surreal photography is because it is something I'd like to explore in more depth further down my project. It may be something I stick to in future shoots because it interests me the most. The photograph below is a demonstration of evidence of knowledge/education/a bookworm/an open mind.

I took three separate pictures to create this piece. I took a variety of angles in the forest along with angles of the book and believe that the images I chose work perfectly together. It was my first time creating a photograph like this, but I feel my editing was accurate as could be. It isn't obvious that the book has been placed there, neither the girl, which means this piece looks natural and therefore was a successful attempt at photomontage photography. There's a decreased saturation level in this image which conveys a more vintage approach, compared to a brightly coloured photograph.

Progression

For the next shoot, I have taken some photographs from my holiday which I will use to cover this lesson as our class is not in on Thursday. I chose to include these photographs because they are evidence of a holiday, and the summer season is clearly portrayed in them. These photos will follow on from my starting point of looking at the weather. However, in progressing my surreal photographs, I have posted an influential post on the types of photos that inspire me and that I'd also like to attempt in a future shoot. I want to look at a pile of books falling into someones hand, sweets exploding out of a packet and also shrinking people to look like the borrowers in abnormal surroundings. There is evidence behind each of these ideas that I will explain in a future work diary and blog post. Some pictures that inspire me for this shoot are displayed below.

Work Diary - Shoot 7

Evaluation

For this shoot, I took some photographs when I went on Holiday. They represent evidence of holiday because they were taken abroad, during winter, where sunny pictures wouldn't be available in England. This shoot was one of my most successful ones because all of the pictures fill the frame with the formal element colour, so they look appealing and refreshing to a viewer. I really enjoyed taking pictures abroad because the weather during summer is by far more appealing than photographs captured during winter. It was my favourite shoot so far because I believe that I got the most successful photographs out of it. Last lesson I looked at surreal photography because I found that I hit a dead end when it came to inspiration, therefore, I will still be doing shoots like these of normal photographs, along with surreal photography as well to give my project a versatile approach. 

This was my favourite picture I took during this shoot. It clearly portrays depth, through the twisty path starting from the bottom of the frame right up to just below the top. I really liked how this formal element is used in photography because it's extremely effective when creating photographic images. The freshly cut green grass hugging the path is an attractive contrast between these two features. The tools I used in photoshop to enhance this photograph meant that the path had more shade to it and the grass had the saturation increased slightly to add that extra summer feel to the overall image. 

This photograph of mine is one that perhaps doesn't convey a holiday as well as the one above it does. It's simply a bird box hanging on a tree, and although it may have seemed like a good idea at the time, for me it could have been taken in any location, during any season, and therefore having no meaning for evience of holiday. The box was also on a slant which makes the viewer uncomfortable when looking at the picture because they'd have to tilt their head, or not be able to view the picture as clearly as they'd be able to if the subject was straighter.

Progression

For Monday's photography session I am going into London to take pictures for shoot 8. I'd like to look at busy streets and perhaps a telephone box in London, anything that conveys a chaotic city, or perhaps even an empty city. I could create some really good selective colour pieces by going into London and aiming to capture a collection of pictures in this style. Below are examples of some city photography along with the types of photos I'd look to like for, or images that will inspire my shoot. This will excel my project further because it will leave me with yet more variety of evidence photography. The evidence I'd be portraying in Monday's pictures would be "travel", "London" and "city." I really liked how the depth worked in my twisty path photograph, which is why I will be looking for depth images in London.

This lesson I went out around campus and set myself the task of looking for colourful flowers/leaves that I could hold up against the sky, as it was white today and would therefore contrast any bright petals. I also decided to look at evidence of other things aswell to broaden the sub topics in my project because I didn't want to excel this theme of sky and flowers as I felt it would become too repetitive.  Examples of the sub topics was evidence of litter and evidence of knowledge/education. I decided to do this because the weather wasn't looking too positive and I didn't want to centralise my shoot around just natural living things out doors. I thought that today was a successful day for shooting, however I always find it a struggle to take attractive photographs when the weather is always so miserable. This encourages me to perhaps think of a studio shoot that I could do during class time one time. 

This was my favourite picture I captured from today's shoot. I believe that it is a successful picture making progress from last lesson evident. I wanted to look at different coloured flowers against a white or another blue sky. The red flower definitely contrasts more effectively with the white sky instead of perhaps a blue sky. I also took another one of these with green petals and I feel that it compliments my assortment of this style of photograph.

This picture was also another one of my favourites from the shoot. I admire how this image is an example of depth which is something that I learnt in Unit 1. It definitely makes this photograph more effective. I believe that it's a successful example of evidence of a library or evidence or knowledge. My intention with this picture was definitely to demonstrate an evidence of intellect as a library is a common place for intelligent and determined, open minded people. 

Progression

In order to push myself to achieve more successful photographs, I would like to excel my idea of looking at evidence of weather, however it is winter and only slow approaching spring, therefore making this idea a struggle. For now, I'd like to explore into my project further by looking at different photographs making something else evident. I want to attempt a photomontage piece similar to the picture that I've inserted below because I feel this is an extremely creative technique when admiring photographs. It can also enhance a topic completely as the main subject of the picture is enlarged to focus more of the viewer's attention on it. I came up with the idea of shooting this style of picture because it is of a book, which the library image encouraged me to look at. 

This photograph is also a style that I'd like to attempt soon.
